Karen Gayle Tinney is a known artist and designer whose work consists of pieces that combine ceramic and fiber, drawing inspiration from the interplay of the materials. The fiber components are incorporated where the ceramics leave off; completing the shape or acting as the physical connection between incomplete parts.
Featuring a large gestural knot, this vase takes inspiration from the braided details of Karen’s one of a kind wall sculptures.
Hand-formed stoneware with deep blue glaze. Tencel braided details (braid is sewn securely in place, it cannot be removed). Inside is glazed blue, the vessel will hold water.
